I was playing with the Sims 2 version of our house, demolishing and adding walls, etc.. In reality, we have a long and narrow kitchen, and a through-the-house living room, which is also long and narrow. It wouldn't be possible to change it quite this much as the wall between kitchen and living room is a supporting wall, but there's no such limits in the Sims 2, so it's fun to toy with different ideas..
