Yesterday, we bought a new Dell inspiron 1520 laptop (apple green, mmmm...), which I'm taking to Finland on Monday. I'm hoping that the local free wireless network will work for me (the hospital is just a bit off the marked area, on the map..), but if not, I thought that it'd be nice to have something to do when I'm not actually visiting my dad. So, I bought The Sims Castaway Stories - hence the new category, for The Sims Stories.. (We'll see if I ever buy the other Stories, since I already have TS2 on my PC, with all the EPs and stuff packs..)

After I'd installed the game, I tried to have a look, only to find that it hadn't created a shortcut on desktop. Well, I went to the game folder, but there was no sign of the .exe file! I was puzzled.. I even checked one or two of the subfolders, but nothing.. I thought that it might be some Vista issue - we're still running XP on our PCs, and although Daniel had seen Vista on some client machines, I hadn't even seen it until we got the new laptop with it. Oh well, it turned out that the .exe file was in the only subfolder that I hadn't checked! Doh.. I made a desktop shortcut for it, and got it running fine. I only checked the new building tools, though. I didn't yet allow myself to start playing it, or I might never get my laundry and packing done for Monday morning!

It's just annoying that those free downloads for Castaway Stories aren't working for me.. (Apparently, you have to be logged in to TheSimsStories.com, only there doesn't seem to be such website.. The lost password link would go to thesimsstories.ea.com but that'll just throw you back to the Yahoo game site, where the downloads are!)
